Visually inspired by everything around her, Wendy explains, “I paint it all!” Her subjects vary from still life to seascapes, and style changes from impressionist to abstract depending on her mood. Her love for painting began in high school and continued into her university studies, where she majored in studio art at Washington and Lee University. During this time, she explains much of her work was influenced by Henri Matisse, Elmer Bischoff, Richard Diebenkorn, and Louise Herreshoff. More recently, she has taken an interest in the work of abstract artist, Mark Rothko. Wendy worked in a number of Baltimore art galleries and taught high school art for years. She now lives and paints full time from her home studio in Baltimore, with her husband and two kids.
