Original works by local artists.

Art that makes the room.

Founded in 2010, The Artist Collective began with a simple idea: make collecting original art more accessible - and make it matter.

What started in a Charleston living room has grown into a thriving online gallery with sister collectives in Atlanta, Nashville, Charlottesville, and Palm Beach, along with rotating shows and pop-ups throughout the Southeast.

We curate monthly, theme-based releases of original artwork by local artists, offering a wide range of styles and mediums at accessible price points. Every piece is original, and a portion of every sale supports a local nonprofit. Since our launch, we’ve donated more than $500,000 to organizations focused on children, conservation, education, and the arts.

Our artists may work in different styles, but they share a common belief: art should feel personal, joyful, and within reach. Each month, artists respond to a shared theme - bringing fresh perspectives and new collections to life. Artwork ranges from $75 to $10,000, making it possible to start a collection or invest in a statement piece.

Looking for the perfect piece for a project? We regularly partner with interior designers and design professionals, serving as a trusted resource and art consultant to help bring spaces to life.

Many of our artists also accept custom commissions. Whether you’re looking for a specific size, subject matter, or color palette, we guide you through the process from start to finish. We’ll help match you with the right artist, assist with sizing, palette, and framing, clearly communicate your vision, and ensure you’re thrilled with the final piece.

Meet the Director

Kate Clark

Kate Clark, Artist Collective Operations Manager, was named the new Director of Capital Artist Collective (CapAC) in June 2023. She has been with Artist Collective since 2018, working as the gallery manager for Charleston Artist Collective + Operations Manager for all markets.

Growing up in a family of artists, Kate always had a deep appreciation for the arts. From visiting her grandfather's exhibitions in Virginia, to traveling and visiting museums abroad, original artwork has held a prominent role in Kate's life and has always struck a sentimental chord. "I truly believe that the art in your space is the greatest reflection of who you are - your values, interests and personal style. It is one of the simplest ways we can find joy in our daily lives."

Kate received a degree in Art History from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2018 before moving to Charleston, SC and beginning her career with the Collective. In 2023 Kate and her husband Henry moved to her hometown of Charlottesville, VA to raise their daughter, Pearl. Based in Central Virginia and representing 14 artists across the DMV area, CapAC is dedicated to promoting established + upcoming artists, all while giving back to the community by donating a portion of every sale to our area non-profits and organizations. Kate is available for artwork consulting and in-person shopping by appointment
